Theme 2.0 sections and blocks
Reusable sections with clear settings, so your team can build new pages in the theme editor.
Liquid · Theme 2.0 · Shopify CLIEditable sections
Shopify theme development for brands that want a store built around their products, not a demo store. We write custom Theme 2.0 sections and templates in clean Liquid, so your team can change pages without calling a developer.
Custom Shopify themes
Your theme is the code that draws every page of your store. A good one is fast, easy to edit and flexible enough for next year’s campaigns. A poor one forces your team to work around it, loads code you never use, and turns every small change into a developer task. Shopify theme development is about getting that foundation right.
There are two main paths. Shopify theme customization takes a strong existing theme, such as Dawn or a premium theme, and adapts it with new sections, styles and features. Custom Shopify theme development builds the theme from a clean base around your exact designs. Customization is usually faster and costs less. A custom build makes sense when your design, catalog or features do not fit any existing theme without heavy changes.
Either way, we build with Shopify CLI, local theme development and Git version control, so every change is tracked and can be rolled back. Sections and blocks have sensible settings, not hundreds of toggles. And we keep page weight low by writing only the code each template needs, which helps both speed and Shopify SEO.
What’s included
Whether we customize a theme or build one from scratch, these are the parts we design for, build and test.
Reusable sections with clear settings, so your team can build new pages in the theme editor.
Different product, collection and page templates for different product types or campaigns.
Structured product data, like specs, ingredients or size charts, shown in the right place on every product.
Mega menus, filtering, quick view, predictive search, bundles and other features built into the theme.
Changes to an existing or premium theme without breaking its update path where we can avoid it.
Lean CSS and JavaScript, lazy-loaded images and no leftover code from removed apps.
Semantic HTML, alt text fields, heading order and structured data that follow WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Shopify local theme development with version control, so every change has a history.
Process
We build on an unpublished theme copy, so your current store keeps selling until the new theme is approved.
We look at your current theme, apps and designs, and recommend customization or a custom build with reasons.
A list of every section, block and setting the theme needs, agreed with you before development starts.
Liquid, CSS and JavaScript built locally with Git, then pushed to a preview theme you can click through.
We fill templates with real products, then test on phones, tablets and desktop browsers.
We publish the theme, check live pages and orders, and show your team how to use each section.
Pricing
Cost depends on how many templates you need, how custom the design is and which features live in the theme. These are the most common starting points.

Theme 2.0, also called Online Store 2.0, is Shopify’s current theme architecture. It lets you add sections to almost any page, use app blocks and connect metafields to theme settings without code.
Heavy changes can make theme updates harder. We keep custom work as separate as we can and document what changed, so updates are easier to apply later.
Product, collection and page URLs stay the same when you switch themes on Shopify. We still check titles, headings, structured data and page speed before publishing so nothing important is lost.
Yes. We build from Figma or other design files and flag anything that will be hard to edit or slow to load before development starts.
You do. The theme lives in your Shopify store, and we give you the Git repository with the full change history.
Share your current store or design files. We will recommend customization or a custom build and send a fixed price for the theme work.
